RAV4 software/firmware versions Model ID is your vehicle VIN. 2023+ RAV4 Headunits and all Toyota's with the newer style infotainment are linked to the vehicle VIN. This information is set locally on the hardware but also has to be set by the Toyota Head Office as well in their server database. This is why we see posts on these forums who've had their headunit replaced under warranty but now their Remote Connect (etc) won't register. The dealership tech did not reach out to TAS after replacement and notify them of the change. HU is the "OS" version number on the Head Unit. When I ran the TSB on my 2023 to upgrade the head unit from version 1452 to version 1564, this file was over 1GB in size and took quite awhile to reflash/reboot. SAMID - Not really for certain what this number means. SCOMO ID - This is the software branch and hardware revision of the OS and physical headunit. If you're in the USA and have a 2023 to 2025 RAV4 it should say: 21TNENAC0007HU0000 21 is the generation of Toyota's OS. 21 means it is running 21MM. Think of this as Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 10, etc. in North America: 2019 RAV4 runs OS 17MM 2020-2022 RAV4 runs typically OS 19MM 2023-2025 runs OS 21MM 2026 will run OS 24MM (this was spotted in a head unit software demonstration of the 2026 RAV4 on YouTube recently) NE: "Entry Level" chipset (The CPU/motherboard etc) In other Toyota models with the 12.3 inch wide screen or 14 inch infotainment this will say NP (Premium). NE means we have the Renesas R-Car M3 SoC in our head unit. The NPs get the more beefy Renesas R-Car H3. If you're interested you can read more here: Renesas’ Innovative Automotive Chips Drive Next-Generation Multimedia System for Toyota Lexus www.renesas.com NA I'm pretty sure means North America. C0007: Software is programmed for a RAV4. HU0000: Physical hardware revision (chipset etc). The 8 inch and 10.5 inch head units have identical hardware which leads me to believe if someone was electronically minded could probably slap a 10.5 inch screen to the guts of their 8 inch head unit and it would function just fine. Would be neat to see someone try this one day. Both the 8 inch and 10.5 inch run an internal resolution of 1280x720 scaled. ==== CDDB: This is the version number of the Gracenote Database that is loaded on your head unit. (Offline Album art etc.) VRDB: Not sure what this is. SYS/CAN: I assume this is the version number of the interface to the vehicle CANBUS. Not 100% on what exactly that entails. SEC: Also not 100% on this VP: I'm fairly certain this is "Vehicle Profile" or the software behind it. My 2023 RAV4 shipped with 1020 and at some point in ownership this updated on its own to 1030. The only reason I noticed was when I reset my head unit to factory settings a year or so ago the Welcome page had a completely different layout and menu flow than when I first bought the car. ==== My version numbers in my 2023 are: HU 1564 CDDB 2666 VRDB 1026 SYS/CAN 1002 SEC 1000 VP 1030
